1. Who We Are
Sylheti IELTS is an online IELTS preparation service operating in Bangladesh at sylhetiielts.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use the service, why we hold it, and how long we keep it. For any privacy question or request, the contact details are in section 10.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when you register, purchase credits, submit work, request feedback, or contact us. This may include your name, email, phone number, target band, account activity, written answers, speaking recordings or transcripts, mock-test answers, payment records, and support messages.
3. Payment Information
Payments are processed through bKash. We store payment references such as payment ID, transaction ID, product, amount, status, and verification time. We do not store your bKash PIN or full payment credentials. bKash may process your information under its own terms and privacy policy.
4. How We Use Information
- To create and secure your account.
- To provide mock tests, AI assessments, and human review.
- To grant, deduct, expire, or refund credits.
- To send receipts, result notifications, and service messages.
- To improve teaching quality, website reliability, and business operations.
- To detect abuse, fraud, payment issues, or security incidents.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only when needed to operate the service, such as with payment providers, hosting providers, AI assessment providers, email/notification tools, and teachers or admins who review student submissions. We do not sell student data.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies to keep you signed in, to protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and to remember your language choice.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages people visit, and whether they complete actions such as creating an account, starting a mock test, or completing a purchase. This tells us where the site is confusing or broken. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view.
We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or your test answers and results to Google. Purchase events include the amount and the purchase reference so we can measure sales, but not who made them. You can opt out for all sites using Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings; the site works normally either way.
7. Data Retention
We keep account, payment, credit, submission, and result records for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. Specific windows we apply:
- Speaking recordings. The full recording of a speaking test is deleted automatically about 3 days after the test. The short clips attached to your feedback are kept with your result so you can review your mistakes later.
- Writing submissions. When a submission is deleted, it is removed permanently about 30 days later.
- Results and band scores. Kept with your account so you can track progress over time, until you ask us to delete them or close your account.
- Payment and credit records. Kept for as long as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes, even after an account is closed.
8. Your Choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. Some payment, security, or accounting records may need to be retained even after an account deletion request.
9. Security
We use account login controls, admin access controls, CSRF protection, rate limiting, and server logging to protect the service. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
